Here at Young Bristol we have had an action packed Easter holidays!
- The NCS Spring Programme saw 11 young people participate in a residential to the Brecon Beacons followed by a week running a Social Action project. The group decided to raise funds for local mental health service provider Off The Record as well as increasing awareness about young people’s mental health. They fundraised a huge £400 for the charity as well as engaging over 700 people in discussions about Mental Health. You can find out more about our NCS Summer Programmes here!
- In other news, students from Ashton Park School tested their high rope climbing & archery skills at our land based activity site at Kingcott Farm. There were also over 28 students visiting from Jan Van Brabant College and an adult group from Groundworks come to tackle the high ropes course. Down at our Pooles Wharf site we had lots of groups joining us on the water for Kayak & Canoeing including Zebra Holiday Club & Rowing Adults (a Mental Health Research Project). The group from Sparks Holiday club even got to climb the rigging on the SS Great Britain!!
- The Creative Team were over at Torwood School running a bag design workshop as part of their Holiday Club Programme as well as getting ready for a creative Wellbeing & Mental Health project at Ashton Vale youth club.
