This weekend sees the launch of the 100 Mile Canoe Test 2017. It is an endurance-based event ran over 4 days (26th – 30th May 2017) with over 70 young people from across the country taking part! #TeamYB will be setting up base camp at Fownhope Recreation Ground and spend four days paddling from Glasbury in Wales to Monmouth on the River Wye.
The Test begins with a start point on day 1 with around 20 to 24 miles paddling, over the following days 2 and 3 increased distances of around 33 to 36 miles are covered. The final days paddle aims to be no more than 10 to 12 miles. It is not only a personal challenge but a team challenge for everyone taking part. Keep an eye on our Facebook Page for updates.
We would like to thank Matt Donnelly (Programmes Manager at Young Bristol) for raising funds by taking part in the Bristol 10K run. His donations have enabled more young people to take part in this fantastic opportunity!
Young Bristol would also like to thank the Bramble Charitable Trust for their generous donation of £500 towards the costs of the Canoe Test!
