In May 2018, Young Bristol launched its ‘Youth Bus for Young Bristol Appeal’ (#YB4YB) to raise £90,000 during our 90th anniversary year to purchase a brand new mobile youth provision.
This new and exciting initiative aimed to provide an opportunity to engage with communities where there is currently no youth provision, enabling us to get to those hard-to-reach areas in the city and rural areas where there is an increasing demand for activities for younger people.
During our appeal, The Society Of Merchant Venturers kindly awarded us a grant of £30,000 towards the purchase of the Youth Club On Wheels. Thanks to the support of The Society Of Merchant Venturers and that of others, Young Bristol exceeded the £90,000 target and raised a grand total of £120,000.
This money not only covered the purchase of our brand new Youth Club on Wheels, but also will contribute towards its running costs for this year.
The Society of Merchant Venturers’ Master, Tony Kenny; the Treasurer, Caroline Duckworth; and Chair of the Charity Committee, Peter McCarthy, were presented a certificate of appreciation by our Development and Fundraising Manager Lucy Saunders and Programmes Manager Matt Donnelly.
We would like to say a huge thank you to The Society of Merchant Venturers for their support towards this appeal.
