Kayak Club is suitable for young people aged between 8 and 21 years old and are at a Beginner to Intermediate Level. Sessions take place in sight of our Pooles Wharf Activity Centre in Bristol’s Floating Harbour on Tuesday evenings between 5pm – 7pm.
Our national governing body (NGB) qualified Instructors will teach basic beginners strokes – forwards, backwards, sideways, turning, stopping. There will also be some confidence building games played on the water to encourage balance and agility.
Helmet, Buoyancy Aid and windproof cagoule supplied.
- Participants that drop-in are able to develop their skills at their own pace, and will have a chance to try out different aspects of the sport, such as: flat-water racing, canoe polo and paddling trips along the harbour.
- A number of confidence building games will be played that encourage different paddling techniques, and give the participants the chance to have a bit of fun on the water!
- Participants will have the opportunity to achieve their Paddle Power Passport and a BCU 1 Star Certificate as part of the course.
