We’ve been super busy here at Young Bristol over the last few months and we have lots to look forward to in the lead up to Christmas.  Here are just a few things we have planned…

NCS Autumn Programme

We had 14 young people take on their National Citizen Service this Autumn.

As well as exciting activities, our first group raised over £100 with a cake sale for the Bristol based charity Nightstop and the second group ran sessions in two schools in Portishead for children with disabilities.

Recruitment for our Summer 2018 programme is going really well, see below for our latest limted offer.

Skills for Life – Aviva Community Fund

This year we are hoping to fund a new project for young people in Bristol ‘Skills for Life’ through the Aviva Community Fund, but we urgently need your help.

This year-long ‘Skills for Life’ programme specifically for young carers or young people in care aged 14-15, will involve an action packed outdoor activity residential over a long weekend, making new friends whilst staying away from home. There will be the opportunity to build on teamwork and communication skills whilst doing something inspiring, motivating and fun. Following this exciting adventure they will work in their teams on a week-long social action project that helps the local community. ( E.g volunteering, community action or fundraising.)

We need your votes to make this happen, follow the link below and after registering (this can be done with you Facebook details), please vote for our project. You can cast up to 10 votes.

The project with the most votes will reach the finals and the winner will be announced in January 2018.

Treefest Christmas 2017

Treefest, taking place from 6-11 December, is a spectacular festive display of Christmas trees held in the Gothic splendour of St Mary Redcliffe Church. Each year local organisations get involved by entering a Christmas tree and decorating it in a style of their choosing.

This year, as well as raising money for St Mary Redcliffe’s community work, Treefest is supporting our charity! We’re looking forward to putting up our tree, which will showcase the different ‘branches’ of work we do across the city.
