Last week our Business Partner Burges Salmon kindly hosted our 2017 Annual General Meeting. The evening was well attended and looked at the current impact of our work as we head into our 90th year. There were also several changes to the Board.

Long standing Patron Sir James Tidmarsh KCVO MBE JP retired from his position after 57 years of supporting Young Bristol. Sir James originally joined the charity in 1960 as part of management committee at Filwood Boys club.

Chris Patterson of Pattersons Ltd stood down as President after over 20 years on our Board. Chris is continuing his support of Young Bristol by taking part in the London Marathon next year.

Ben Hardy of Richmond Event Management & Karl Tucker from Yeo Valley Organic stepped down as Chair & Treasurer respectively. Both Ben & Karl will remain on our Board of Trustees.

We wish to thank Sir James, Chris, Ben & Karl for their wonderful service to Young Bristol over all these years. Their support and expertise has enabled us to grow as a charity and develop conscientiously. We believe this approach has been crucial to our continuation and the ability to run high quality youth provision across the City.

We warmly welcome the current HM Lord Lieutenant of Bristol Peaches Golding OBE as our new Patron. Peaches is involved with many charitable organisations across Bristol and will be a fantastic addition to our board.

We are also delighted to welcome Jamie Cameron from Burges Salmon as our new Chair, and Lee Everson from Barclays PLC as our new Treasurer. Many thanks goes to both Jamie & Lee for their involvement in our 2020 strategy which was launched this year.
