Young Bristol’s Instructor Training Scheme (ITS) is an entirely free programme that trains young people aged 16 – 24 to become Outdoor Instructors.

We will be holding a Recruitement Day on Thursday 5th September from 6pm at Pooles Wharf Activity Centre, Hotwells Road, BS8 4RU. This will be a great opportunity for young people, parents, carers and guardians to come and find out about the programme which will be taking place later this year.

About the programme

Our Instructor Training Scheme is taught through the delivery of a huge range of activities including Kayaking, Canoeing, Archery, Navigation, Team-building and Bush-craft.

Not only will participants gain qualifications in Outdoor Pursuits and receive a First Aid Certificate, they will also meet new friends, build on their confidence and improve their physical and mental ability. All of which, will increase their future work opportunities.

It’s definitely given me a lot more confidence to go out there and actually try stuff. You might not be very good to begin with, but it’s all about pushing yourself and making yourself better.

Our Recruitment Day runs as a drop-in, so there is no need to book. Alternatively, if you’d like to find out more contact info@youngbristol.com.
