Working with young people online during Children’s Mental Health Week

As we moved into a new month, February saw Children’s Mental Health Week 2021 take place from Monday 1st – Sunday 7th February, focusing on this year’s theme of Express Yourself.

The week offered young people and their parents a host of opportunities to explore themselves, from homeschooling resources, activities and events. At Young Bristol, our sessions explored the theme of expressing yourself, using games including Self Care Bingo to start conversations with the young people, as well as creative packs from InCommon to support them to explore their creative minds.

We pride ourselves on providing safe spaces with caring youth workers, where young people can explore new opportunities, “Since I’ve done [the Outdoor Employment Programme], it’s changed my life… when I am out on the water I am on my own time, I’m safe, and I don’t have no worries at all.”

Our Digital Programme continues this week working with young people from our Youth Clubs, Social Action and Outdoor Employment Programmes. You can find out more about our online provision here.
