Local MP Kerry McCarthy visits BS14 Bike Project

Local MP Kerry McCarthy visits the BS14 Bike Project to see the workshops in action and the impact that the programme is having on the young people that are involved.

The BS14 Youth Club’s Bike Project run in partnership with Off The Record (Bristol) and Life Cycle UK, supports conversations around mental health and young peoples hopes for the future, as well as improving perceptions in the local community of young people riding bikes following increase in anti-social behaviour.

Kerry McCarthy MP for Bristol East says, “Stockwood is one of the areas in my constituency that often feels somewhat detached from what goes on in the city centre and could really do with more community facilities, so it’s great to see the work Young Bristol is doing at the BS14 Youth Club.

The club has the potential to become a vital community hub, not just for young people but for other local residents too. It needs a bit of work, and resources putting into it, and I am very keen to do what I can as the local MP to support this.

Please do get in touch with Young Bristol if you are able to help.”
