Young Bristol are delighted to announce that 4 of our partner Community Youth Clubs have been awarded grants, as part of the Julia & Hans Rausing Trust’s ‘Youth Centre Recovery Fund’.
The Youth Centre Recovery Fund will support 148 youth centres across England, awarding £6.5 million and a further £1.5 million to UK Youth to offer grants to small, local youth centres who were not eligible for the main fund. Julia and Hans launched the Youth Centre Recovery Fund after seeing the need for support in the sector following the financial impact the pandemic has had on many charities. Studies from The National Youth Agency show 1 in 2 youth charities will be unable to meet operational costs within 12 months.
Julia and Hans Rausing commented: “The last year has been incredibly difficult for young people, whose education and social lives have been severely interrupted by the pandemic. Youth Centres play a vital role in providing young people with educational, leisure and social opportunities.
“We are delighted to be supporting charities across the country that can make a real difference in their local communities and have a positive impact on young people’s life chances.”
We would like to share our biggest thanks to the Julia & Hans Rausing Trust for their extremely generous support of Ashton Vale Club for Young People, Avon Youth Club, The Grove @ Bedminster Down and Sea Mills Boys’ and Girls Club.
The grants will have a huge impact on the young people who access these safe and supportive community spaces, which have been massively impacted by the pandemic. #HereforYouthCentres
