The May Half Term saw Young Bristol deliver a programme of inspiring, engaging and fun daytime provision to children and young people across the city.
Young Bristol provides Holiday Clubs to young people across Bristol from our Youth Clubs, Youth Club on Wheels and Activity Centres throughout the school holidays. It is vital that we provide this daytime provision which supports children, young people and their families at a time when school holidays can be particular pressure points because of increased costs of childcare and food, and reduced incomes.
This May Half Term our teams delivered 28 sessions in 7 communities over the 4 days, with over 338 attendances, 270 meals provided and a programme of activities, day trips, discussions, workshops and more!
“My son has been at all of the Holiday Clubs so I can work – the kids have such fun!” Parent of young person at BS14 Youth Club
“It’ fun. The staff are supportive. They are encouraging and kind.” Kami, young person at The Grove
“I like the street art walk because it was nice to chat with my friends and do something different outside of The Grove.” Creative Arts Day Trip at The Grove @ Bedminster Down
“A girl aged 16 asked what Youth Workers were and why we did it. This conversation was amazing as it gave us the opportunity to explain so many things and also educate the importance of youth work from the streets.” Youth Club on Wheels in Henbury & Brentry
We would like to thank the Bristol Youth and Community Action Fund (BYCA) for kindly funding our Community Youth Club and Youth Club on Wheels Holiday Club programmes this Half Term.
