VACANCY: x2 Sessional Youth Workers (Hartcliffe Club for Young People)

Our partner Community Youth Club, Hartcliffe Club for Young People, are seeking x2 Part Time Sessional Youth Workers to support their programme in Hartcliffe.

About Hartcliffe Club for Young People

Hartcliffe Club for Young People is an open access community youth centre for young people aged 8 – 19 living on the local estates. Formed in 1965, our trained professional staff provide a range of positive activities, guidance, advice and support.

Our programmes improve:

  • Access to opportunities and experiences outside of school
  • Leadership skills
  • Resilience
  • Health and wellbeing

These are essential for young people to succeed in life and employment.

About the Part Time Sessional Youth Worker roles

Hartcliffe Club for Young People are recruiting x2 Sessional Youth Workers to support our Club programme.

Sessional Youth Workers will assist with all Club activities including planning and organising Club programmes, and encouraging the personal, social and informal educational development of the members who attend Club. Support will be received from the Senior Youth Workers at Club.

The weekly evening youth work session(s) will be worked from a Community Youth Club setting (currently Monday and Thursday – 5 hours per week). Hourly rate £10.00 PH.

Hartcliffe Club for Young People is located at Gatehouse Avenue, BS13 9AN.

Applications should ideally already hold either a national qualification in Youth Worker or be prepared to study towards achieving an NVQ in Youth Work through part-time study. Experience of working with children and young people, and understanding of issues facing young people is desired. Good interpersonal skills and a passion for working with young people is also important.

The post will be subject to satisfactory references, and the completion of an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. A full UK drivers license is desirable.
