Young Bristol’s Fundraising and Development Manager Lucy Saunders joined the panel on BCFM’s Real Women Show this week, to discuss intergeneration and how bringing together the generations can bring huge benefits to both older people and young people.
The show focused on perceptions of young people, why programmes are needed to bring generations together, and how intergenerational work can benefit both generations. The show also gave opportunity to find out more about Young Bristol, as well as Age UK Bristol’s Jo Stoke who joined the panel.
The majority of media about young people does tend to be negative – and that’s why the intergenerational work and linking up young people with older people is so valuable, because it breaksdown some of those misconceptions and stereotypes, and really helps to build bridges between those generations which might not naturally have had the opportunity to come together,” said Lucy Saunders.
