Young Bristol were delighted to meet with corporate partner Channel Comms in August to receive a donation of new kayaks for our Outdoor Activity Programmes.
Local business Channel Comms who chose to support Young Bristol as their Charity of the Year during 2021, raised money through a Euro’s 2021 sweepstake to purchase much needed kayaks for children and young people participating in our Outdoor Activity Programmes.
Many young people sadly lack access to sporting and physical activities, which is why outdoor pursuits is central to Young Bristol’s programmes. A vital tool in supporting young people to build new skills and gain qualifications, whilst taking part in new and unique experiences.
Young Bristol’s Fundraising and Development Manager, Lucy Saunders met with Channel Comms Sales Director, Nick Boulton and Marketing Coordinator, Hollie Boyd, at our Pooles Wharf Activity Centre where young people tested the new kayaks at our Holiday Clubs.
We are proud to have Young Bristol as our charity partner, their ethos on empowering the young people of our community through activities and programmes bringing them value and helping them find their potential is a passion we share. Spending the afternoon with the young people and seeing the excitement of using the new kayaks we supplied was an absolute pleasure. We look forward to working with Young Bristol to help them achieve their goals”
This donation of equipment will be used by young people ages 8 – 25 who engage with Young Bristol’s Kayak Club, Outdoor Employment Programme and Holiday Clubs, as well as by schools and community groups who bring local young people to the charities Outdoor Activity Centre on the harbourside.
Thank you to Channel Comms for your continued support of our work. You can find out more about our Corporate Partnerships here.
