It is thanks to the generous support of local corporates, that Young Bristol is able to build partnerships that support us to develop our provision and thrive in local communities across the city.
Young Bristol were thrilled to first begin working with local business Leggwork Construction Services Ltd in 2020 during the pandemic, when the team donated Easter Eggs to our Easter Half Term Holiday Clubs for young people ages 8 – 12.
“When starting LEGGWORK I knew I wanted to be able to do more for our local community than I was previously able to,” says James Legg, Director of Leggwork.
I contacted Young Bristol earlier this year to learn more about what they do and how we can help. I knew that we wanted to be able to donate our time, as well as money to the organisation.”
The team at Leggwork volunteered their time earlier this year during July 2021, clearing garden space at our BS14 Youth Club, which will allow young people and staff to utilise the area as a wellbeing garden. Following this fantastic day of support, we were delighted to welcome back Leggwork to support a corporate voluntary day at Ashton Vale Club for Young People this October.
“This time round we are at our second volunteer day where we donated £500 and our assistance for the day. It was great to get stuck in and help to turn a room that had become unused and more of a dumping ground into a freshly painted room ready for the children to use for arts and crafts and other activities.”
Leggwork’s support at Ashton Vale Club for Young People will enable us to offer an arts space at the community venue which can be used by not only our open access youth provision, but also other community members who access the centre.
Throughout 2021, Young Bristol looks forward to continue to build our partnership, “At LEGGWORK we have committed to donating 3% of our annual profits to our local community and as we begin to grow we look forward to donating both more of our money and time to this fantastic charity!”
