Atkins Young Professionals transform local Youth Clubs!

Young Bristol welcomed Atkins Young Professionals to The Grove @ Bedminster Down during November, for a voluntary day to transform the garden and indoors spaces for the local children and young people.

Young Bristol’s Youth Clubs make a huge difference in communities across Bristol, and it is thanks to the support of our corporate partners that our clubs continue to be vibrant, welcoming and supportive hubs.

The local teams behind Atkins have volunteered their time throughout 2021, clearing and painting outdoors spaces at Ashton Vale Club for Young People to create a new garden space for young people, and developing the indoor and outdoor spaces at The Grove @ Bedminster Down.

This week saw another fantastic week of developments at The Grove @ Bedminster Down, thanks to the team of Young Professionals at Atkins. Rowena Griffiths, Degree Apprentice Consultant who supported with organising the voluntary day said, “As Volunteering Coordinators on the Young Professional Forum, our goal is to promote, engage and support volunteering across Atkins for Young Professionals.”

Ellie Bean, Graduate Assistant Engineer said,

It’s really good for you to get away from your desk and do something, especially after the last year of working from home, it’s been really nice to get out and do something more physical.”

Rowena adds,

And to help your community as well – it’s really important to us to not just help a larger charity, but to help a charity that is really local and then continue to grow the relationship.

Thank you Atkins for continuing to make a difference! You can find out more about our Corporate Partnerships here.
