VACANCY: Part-time Sessional Youth Workers (South Bristol)

Our partner Community Youth Clubs, The Grove @ Bedminster Down and BS14 Youth Club, are seeking to recruit Part-time Sessional Youth Workers to support their programmes in South Bristol.

About our Community Youth Clubs

Our Community Youth Clubs for 8 – 19 year olds are located in many areas across Bristol. Each Community Youth Club offers a safe and inclusive environment, staffed by caring, trained adults. Our Clubs provide creative, sports and inspiring activities and opportunities. Most importantly, they are spaces for young people to make lifelong friendships and have fun! The Youth Club also aims to engage with those most vulnerable young people that may be at risk of crime or anti-social behaviour.

About the Sessional Youth Worker roles

The Grove @ Bedminster Down and BS14 Youth Club are currently seeking to recruit Sessional Youth Workers to assist with all Club activities including researching, planning, promoting and organising Club programmes. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to develop their skills and experience of working with children and young people in a Youth Work setting.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who can engage and motivate young people, who can work well in a team, and can adapt to meet the needs of young people.

NOTE: EACH session is normally three hours in duration, which includes a period of compulsory pre and post written review. The 2 youth work session(s) per week will be worked from a Community Youth Club setting. Additional shifts available and daytime hours during the school holidays.

The Grove @ Bedminster Down is located at 27A Cheddar Grove, Bedminster Down, BS13 7EN. BS14 Youth Club is located at Stockwood Lane, BS14 8SJ.

Rate of pay per session: £28.50 – £32.28 per session (in-line with role, experience and qualifications)

Qualifications and experience

Applicants should ideally already hold either a national qualification in Youth Work or be prepared to study towards achieving an NVQ in Youth Work through part-time study. However, experience and a passion for working with young people are as important in the first-instance. The post will be subject to satisfactory references, and the completion of an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
