Influencing through the Stop and Search scrutiny panel

Young people from Young Bristol’s Youth Voice group, The Grove @ Bedminster Down and Broad Plain & Riverside Youth Project attended an evening with Avon and Somerset Police this week, to share their opinions and perspectives on Stop and Searches as part of a scrutiny panel.

The group were shown video clips by Police Officers in St Pauls of previous searches, sharing their thoughts, young people’s perspectives and highlighting how searches can widely vary from Officer to Officer. The event which was the first consultation in the country to take place with a local Police force and young people, hopes to help change, influence and improve Stop and Searches in our city.

Young Bristol continues to empower youth voice, providing opportunities for young people to use their voice to make a positive influence.
