Last week, we were delighted to invite the team from Core3 to Hartcliffe Club for Young People, where their generous volunteers dedicated their day to help improve our facilities for the benefit of young people.

After a long winter, with some severe weather conditions, Hartcliffe Club or Young people needed some attention, making sure our youth club was ready for young people use and enjoy throughout the Easter Holiday!

4 of Core3's incredible staff members joined us at Hartcliffe Club for Young People, where, with the help of our Club Leader, created a more visually appealing and safe environment around the club. During the day, the team litter picked around the club, cut down overgrown branches that were growing up the fence as well as raked and cleared the back garden, preparing the area for new additions coming soon!

Last week, we hosted our annual Night Hike, Operation: Moonlit Wander. This activity was on offer for all young people across our Community Youth Club network to take part in!

32 young people participated in our Night Hike, racing against each other to complete the course, starting from Velvet Bottom and working together to make it to their finish point in Burrington. It was great to see teams take part from our Youth Clubs across the city: Avon Youth Club, BS14 Stockwood Youth Club, Hartcliffe Club for Young People, Youth Club on Wheels Henbury and Sea Mills Boys and Girls Club!

"The Night Hike was so much fun! It was so nice to meet the other youth clubs and the activity was very challenging, especially in the rain. Everyone did really well!"

Young Bristol would like to extend a huge congratulations to Kyle from Hartcliffe Club for Young People, who was awarded “The Volunteer of the Year Award” at the Bristol Social Impact Awards this week!

The Volunteer of the Year Award at the Bristol Social Impact Awards is awarded to individuals for making notable differences and inspiring contributions through volunteering in their community!

Hartcliffe Club for Young People chose to nominate Kyle after he had overcome significant barriers to become a driving force at his local Youth Club! Kyle became a young volunteer at Hartcliffe Club over one year ago, as a junction to continue his mental health journey.

Since joining the group, he has been involved in organising a charitable event on behalf of a homeless charity, coached a junior football team to enter into our Interclub football tournament and so much more to support other young people

Young Bristol are incredibly proud to share that Kat Katuszka, Club Leader at BS14 Stockwood Youth Club has completed her Level 3 Youth Work qualification!

Kat completed her Level 3 Youth Work qualification with South Gloucestershire Playscheme in 2023. Since beginning the course, Kat has learnt how to engage with young people in a youth work setting, and how she can promote young people’s personal and social development, enabling them to have a voice and influence in the community.

We are very proud of Kat for completing her Level 3 Youth Work training. This training helps to progress her professional development but also has a huge impact on our delivery at BS14 Stockwood Youth Club. She taken on her learning and used it to influence how she plans sessions and provide young people with an engaging and youth focused environment. Congratulations!”

-Andy Kimber, Head of Operations

At Young Bristol, we continue to reinforce our strategy pillars by developing our people and programmes by providing opportunities for personal and professional development, skills for life and opportunities to grow.
