This February half term, Young Bristol have offered a wide range of activities for all young people to take part in. From sporting to creative activities, we’ve had something for everyone!
This week, we hosted an Interclub football tournament at Avon Youth Club. We invited over 50 young people from across our club network that joined up to compete in the tournament. The day brought together young people from Ashton Vale Club for Young People, Avon Youth Club, BS14 Stockwood Youth Club, Hartcliffe Club for Young People, Sea Mills Boys and Girls Club and The Grove @ Bedminster Down.
The Interclub football tournament began with 11 teams playing 4-5 minute matches in a round robin format. Each game had a large group of supporters cheering them on from the sideline. While the teams were playing, Avon Youth Club had a range of activities for the young people to do while they waited their turn including football practice, pool and basketball!
After some intense matches, it was announced that Sea Mills Boys’ and Girls’ Club and Hartcliffe Club for Young People would play against each other for the junior trophy and The Grove @ Bedminster Down would play against Hartcliffe Club for Young People for the senior trophy! The junior match resulted in a penalty shoot out!
We are proud to announce that Sea Mills Boys’ and Girls’ Club were awarded our junior trophy and The Grove @ Bedminster Down were awarded the senior trophy!
Each player that took part in the tournament received a participation certificate. We also selected one player from each age category that was awarded player of the tournament! Congratulations to the young people that won this!
Well done to all of our young people for taking part. It was great to see them interact and engage with young people from other youth clubs and making new friends.
